Inoorero University has been heavily involved in training and offering computer certifications to rural secondary schools throughout Kenya. Due to their commitment in eliminating the digital divide gap in the country, the university was among the identified educational institutions which received an invitation from Hewlett-Packard (Hp) company in 2009 to submit their proposals for the most innovative teaching and learning initiative using the HP Compaq tc4200 Tablet PCs, HP digital cameras, HP digital projectors and HP All-in-One printers from the HP innovation in Education Grant initiative for secondary schools in the  selected countries in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).   This HP Grant seeks to empower teachers from the selected educational institutions with a  cutting edge information technology and become part of a global network of secondary school  educators who are the leaders in designing the future secondary education by providing them with the Tablet PCs, digital projectors, and digital cameras to expand classroom learning opportunities. The main objective of the project is to enhance performance in teaching and learning of ICT courses through promoting interactivity and heightened participation in the classroom, increase collaboration among students and between students and faculty. Enhance performance  in research through enhanced access to local and international learning and teaching content and finally cultivate collaboration between faculty members in the School and between the School and other institutions of higher learning within and outside the country.
